Born in 1983 in Chisinau, Natalia Parfenova’s artistic vision unfolds through diverse media, with a primary focus on film photography. She studied at the Photography Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Académie in Amsterdam and is currently refining her craft at the School of Contemporary Photography DocDocDoc in Saint Petersburg. She uses vintage cameras to delve into the shadows of solitude, identity, and spiritual nuances in the absence of direct human presence.
Natalia’s work creates a mysterious dialogue between lenses, nature, and its inhabitants. Beyond the visible, she intricately weaves ecological themes into her compositions—probing the enigmatic connection between mental and physical landscapes. Her images, compact and elusive, beckon viewers to untangle the unseen threads and fathom out the link that binds humanity and nature.
